Seyramics is a hand-made pottery brand started by ceramic artist Zara Albert, who creates one-of-a-kind ceramic pieces inspired by Seychelles flora and fauna. Zara was born and raised in Seychelles but lived and studied in California for 12 years. Upon returning home, Zara worked for several businesses, but now her small side hustle, ‘Seyramics’, has grown into her full-time occupation. Back in 2021, Cosmocreole interviewed Zara to learn more about Seyramic. You can read her story HERE. Zara has now extended her brand to exquisite pieces of jewellery also inspired by beautiful Seychelles.

“Jewellery making was something I always admired and thought of exploring as a jewellery lover myself. However, I wanted to push myself as an artist with larger sculpted pieces before working with a more delicate and refined line.
“I started working with porcelain early in 2022 experimenting with colours and designs for jewellery. I wanted to create a sustainable jewellery brand that focused on quality and art. Each piece represents something from the Seychelles with a story behind each collection. The sea glass collection for example was inspired by broken sea glass on the shores. I love their texture and colours roughed by the sea over time.

“In 2022, I launched my jewellery line with locally inspired flowers frangipani and birds of paradise. After gaining my confidence I started sculpting more intricate designs and hand-painting each piece with love— creating art pieces for one’s ears inspired by the Seychelles and adorning it with 22 karat gold.

“Pieces take about a month to make with over 32 hours of firing in the kiln. The handmade pieces are all unique, and some collections are even more special, such as my newest limited collection “KORAY ROUZ” (Red Coral) inspired by the flames of love for Valentine’s Day. Only 5 pieces in each design were created for this collection thus making each piece more unique. This year I will be releasing a few more collections with higher-end range products giving my clients the best possible experience while focusing on elegance, uniqueness, sustainability and small quantity.”
