Enda Gilbert, A Parental Burnout practitioner and educator, contributed to Undefeated, a collection of uplifting, powerful and inspiring stories written by a group of Professional migrant women in Australia. Enda describes the book as a lighthouse representing the extraordinary grit of migrant women who refused to be defeated.

I was honoured to be given the platform to share my challenges, triumph and resilience journey.
In “Where is The Freaking Village?” I share my challenges, turmoils and triumphs of raising my child without a support village while battling post-natal depression. My challenges introduced me to my strengths, and I rose above all odds and achieved my career goals while thriving as a working mama.
I hope that all migrant women and women of colour worldwide who read this Undefeated feel seen and heard. Our stories will inspire you to live the life you want, not settle for less, speak your truth even when you feel alone, and own your destiny.
You’re the CEO of your life; don’t hand over the power to anyone.

In a new self-help autobiographical book, ‘Becoming a Fanm Fasinasyon’ (a fascinating woman), Marsha Parcou, a life coach and entrepreneur, shares her journey as a woman and the challenges faced in life and how to overcome them. Marsha said that ‘Becoming a Fanm Fasinasyon’ was written to empower other women in Seychelles and beyond who face similar challenges.

The reality is we will always be put in a box. We will always see ourselves in a situation, but we don’t have to stay in the box. So, the feedback I received from my clients through messages describing how their lives have changed for the better has moved me and inspired me to write my personal story and make something beautiful out of it to inspire other women.
It’s been a journey, and it’s been a bit scary to put some chapters of my life out in the open, especially about my childhood, but even though it is scary, I see it as a healing process as well.
I believe that there is no greater power than to empower other women. So, my story about Fasinasyon is all part of my goal to inspire other women and other people to believe that you can step out of the boxes; you are more than your past, and your past is not your home.
The book can be purchased at local bookstores like Antigone bookshop and Chanterelle. The book is also available at Chatterbox Café and on Amazon here.
