Elaine Desnousse, 33 years old, from the Seychelle Elaine Desnousse, 33 years old, from the Seychelles islands, was born with a respiratory disease diagnosed as bronchiectasis when she was a teenager. With repeated infections over the years, the disease was progressive and led to respiratory failure. This affected Elaine’s wellbeing and quality of life, which meant she would ultimately need a lung transplant; without it her future was bleak—her life ending sooner than expected.

Despite many challenges, both her lungs were replaced with those received from a donor. Read Elaine’s journey to a new lease of life and breathing easier than before on Cosmocreole. Link in the bio.

To all mothers, we hear and we see you —love mak To all mothers, we hear and we see you —love makes you do it.

To the mothers of neurodiverse children, we salute you for fighting, paving the way for your children even though no one has paved the way for you.

To the mothers who have lost a child, you are heartbroken, but the way you move forward in grief is humbling and inspiring.

To the mothers of differently-abled children, tiredness is your life but you do not give up. We see your love.

To the mothers of adopted children, you are brave —giving a home, being there—loving them.

To the mothers doing it alone, your determination is noted—you are stronger than you think.

To all mothers, you are unique—accommodating and fiercely protective women because of motherhood.

If your part of the world is celebrating Mother's day - Happy Mother's Day 💐

Best Apps to Keep you Organised

2 October 2020 · In: Life & Work

When it comes to running our daily lives, productivity is something we all aspire to achieve. Whether it is being able to manage time better or remembering the list of things that need to be done, we all would like to be much better at keeping our lives organised. Sadly, however, this isn’t always the case and sometimes if not, most times we struggle to keep ourselves organised.

Well, that is why technology is here (although it is not for everyone!). Just as it is with every other thing, tech can help improve productivity and keep efficiency levels high. Here’s a short guide of some of the Apps than can boost your productivity.

1. Any.do

The app provides a to-do list, notes, and reminders to keep you conscious of everything that needs to be done. In addition to that, you can share your lists with others, and assign tasks to them as well. The app provides sync abilities between web, desktop, and mobile platforms, so you get to update your lists in real time.

2. Todoist

Todoist is a planner and to do list app. It’s a multi-platform planner app that provides a gimmick-free, clean approach to task management and interfacing. You can set priority levels by categorising tasks with colors. If you are looking to get things done easily, this is a great companion. “Regain clarity and calmness by getting all those tasks out of your head and onto your to-do list (no matter where you are or what device you use).”

3. Notion

Notion is an App that provides you with databases, kanban boards, wikis, calendars and reminders. You can connect these components to create your own systems for knowledge management, note taking, data management, project management, among others. These components and systems can be used individually, or in collaboration with others. The App is very popular with students.

4. Trello (Editor’s favourite)

Trello is a solid all-around life organizer that blends tools for both work and home. The company describes the app as a “whiteboard with superpowers”, and it’s just as easy to use. What it can do:

Create dynamic checklists with “to-do” cards.
Create boards to organize projects.
Share and collaborate with co-workers, friends, or family.
Assign tasks to anyone on a project.
Attach files or media like photos and videos.
Syncs with the cloud to update all devices automatically.
